MRS. ANNIE RUTH PERRY MCAULEY, 82 of MOUNT GILEAD, NC, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017, at her residence. Funeral Service will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Leah Richter Levin Memorial Auditorium 102 South School Street, Mount Gilead, NC. Interment to follow in the Roper Grove Church Cemetery, Mount Gilead, NC. Public Viewing will be held 12:00pm to 7:00 pm Friday, March 17, 2017, at Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Mount Gilead, NC
Ms. Annie Ruth, was born on Saturday, February 2, 1935 in Macon, Georgia, to the late Gordon and Robell Esther Perry. She attended the public schools of Macon Georgia and was a graduate of Speight High School, in Macon Georgia, where she was a basket ball star.
She later married the late Willie Clyde " Bill" McAuley and relocated to New Jersey. She was employed by Ralph Lauren in New Jersey as a clothing inspection. She also became a member of Roper Grove A.M.E. Zion Church, where she was a member of the Choir. She will be sorely missed.
She leaves to cherish loving memories, two devoted daughters, Sharon McAuley and Debra McAuley, both of Mount Gilead, NC, two sons, Willie Rome Perry and Jerome Perry, both of Trenton, NJ; special granddaughter of the home, Khadija McAuley-Little; seven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Alberta McAuley of Mount Gilead, NC; special '"road buddy, Jackie Watkins of Mount Gilead, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and very dear friends.
