MR. HOLLY FAULKNER, JR., 66 of MONROE, NC died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the W.G. Hefner Veteran Affairs  Medical Center in Salisbury, NC.  Funeral Services will be held 2pm Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Langford Chapel CME Church, 113 S. Johnson St., Monroe, NC, Reverend Sandra Gripper, Pastor, Eulogist, Interment wilth full Military Honors will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery.  A public viewing will be held 11am to 7pm Monday, July 21, 2014 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.

Born in Monroe, NC, Tuesday, October 28, 1947 a son of the late Holly, Sr., and Bennie Ceil Winchester Faulkner. He was a 1967 graduate of Monroe High School and then after entered into the US Army where he served during the Vietnam War as an Infantry Soldier he was part of the 9th Infantry Division Mekong Delta. After recieving his Honorable Discharge, Holly returned to Monroe, NC where he was employed by the Comnet Company where he had a very long work history and he retired.  Holly met and married his devoted wife Helena Rogers Faulkner, he was a member of Langford Chapel CME Church in Monroe, NC where he served  as a Trustee, Usher and  Choir Member, always with a smile and an uplifting word.

He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to his loving wife; Helena Rogers Faulkner of the home; daughters Bianca R. Faulkner of Monroe, NC, Fatima R. Sturdivant (Steven) of Marshville, NC, Hope McGuire (Patrick) of Laurel, MD; son; Cory D. Faulkner (Sherri) of Wingate, NC; five siblings; Robert Faulkner ( Elma) and Leona Nesbit (James deceased) all of Monroe, NC, Brenda Hilton (Donnie deceased) of Aurora, CO, Michael Faulkner (Frances) of Birmingham, AL and Bennie Honeycutt (Jean) of Jefferson, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

My sincere sympathy to Holly's family. I had not heard how he had been for several years. My husband and I both thought a lot of Holly. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Holly and i were close freinds since 1963, we went to Veitnam together in 1968 same unit. He was in 4th of the 47th and i was in the 3rd of the 39th 9th Inf Div Mekong Delta. I nick named Him tip lite because he clearded combat alley every morning for exploses. I will miss my freind. Saximore he call me. Much love to you family

As Holly's obituary mentioned "never did you see Holly without a smile on his face. Proud to call this fellow Vietnam Veteran a Friend. Rest in Peace Brother!!

Didn,t know holly that well but thur the words of his brother Robert Faulkner who,s a deacon at our church, He was an outstanding man, husband & father willing to lend a helping hand in anyway possible, To his wife childrens & the family our hearts are saden with yours, But know this one thing he,s not suffering anymore he,s now where we.re waiting to be and know that this is not a good bye it,s only i,ll see you later, God bless and keep the Faulkner thur this time of sorrow is our pray. So sorry for your loss. I loved attending sporting events when Bianca and Matt were in school and sit with Holly. Thinking about him certainly brings a smile on my face. Thoughts and prayers are with you guys!
