MR. JESSIE JAMES "Cowboy" THOMAS, 55 of BUFFALO, NY formerly of Union County, NC passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021 at the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, NY.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 5909 Wolfpond Rd., Monroe, NC. Mr. Thomas remains will lie in repose 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the church prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
(Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic everyone attending the Service and Public Viewing are required to wear a mask or facial covering. Also please use the Hand Sanitizing Station when entering and exiting the Funeral Home.)
A public viewing will be held 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Friday, November 19, 2021 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC which is serving the Thomas, Ashcraft and extended families.
Jessie James Thomas, a son of the late Walter Floyd Thomas and Evelyn A. Thomas, was born on Tuesday, July 5, 1966, in Union County, North Carolina. He departed this earthly life on Thursday, November 11, 2021 in Buffalo, New York.
"Cowboy" as he was fondly called by family and friends, was last employed with Goodwill Industries for 15 years in Buffalo, New York.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Jerinda Barrino Polk.
Those left to cherish and to honor his memory are his brothers, Hubert Thomas (Yvette) of Winston-Salem, NC, Hamid "Pee Wee" Bey (Carrie) of Lawton, Okla., his sisters, Evelyn Sutton of Charlotte, NC, Mary Gillespie, Thelma Thomas, Lurene Thomas, Darlene Thomas and Brenda Thomas (Doug), all of Union County, NC; grandchildren,, Maliyah, Koayash, Nevaeh, Sadaria, Tyonna and Amaya; uncles, James Ashcraft (Emma Jean) and Carol Thomas; aunt, Joyce Wilson (Aaron); special family in Buffalo, NY, John and Gail Richardson(Jill); Road Riding friends for traveling long distance, John Young; childhood friend forever, Romantis Belk and he was loved by many around the world mush love, Buffalo NY and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends,.
