MR. JASON MONROE McKNIGHT, 44 of HAMLET, NC passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Atrium Health / Main in Charlotte, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Christ Bible Discipleship Worship Center, 1019 Unarco Road, Marshville, NC.  Interment will follow in the Crossroad AME Zion Church Cemetery in Marshville, NC. 

(Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic everyone attending the Service and Public Viewing are required to wear a mask or facial covering.  Also please use the Hand Sanitizing Station when entering and exiting the Funeral Home.) 

A public viewing will be held 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at  Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC.

Mr. Jason Monroe McKnight, a son of Ms. Virginia McKnight and the late Samuel James Monroe, was born on Thursday, June 9, 1977 in Jersey City, New Jersey .  He departed this earthly life on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Atrium Health/Main, Charlotte, NC.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Ruth Monroe; maternal grandfather, Kemp Lotharp Jr.,; brother, Corprice  McKnight and a sister, Rochelle McKnight..

Jason was a genuine unique person who touched many lives through his journey on earth.  He loved making others laugh so, so much.  To know him was to truly love him.  He met no stranger and helped everyone he could.  Jason had one  of the biggest hearts and he loved hard.  Always happy spending time with his children and family.  We all will miss hearing and saying "here comes Jason, when it's time to eat."

Left to cherish fond memories are his two daughters, Jashyia "Butt-Butt", Saniyah "Tater" and one son, Jadus "JJ" McKnight, all of Rockingham, NC; a special friend of 15 years, Zakeia "Tootie" Johnson of Rockingham, NC; his mother, Virginia McKnight of Marshville, NC; one sister, Blossom McKnight of Charlotte, NC, four brothers, Garryton McKnight (Stephanie) of Hamlet, NC, Dulaine Lotharp of  Pamilico, NC, Ronald  McKnight (Monique) and Samuel McKnight (Nesha), all of Charlotte, NC; grandmother, Cassie Lotharp; four aunts, Estelle Russell (Eddie) of Dudley, NC, Rosa Boyd of Fitzgerald, GA, Mary Lotharp of Marshville, NC and Ruth Lotharp of Monroe, NC; 12 uncles, James Monroe, Jefferson Monroe (Donna) all of Roseboro, NC, Jimmy Monroe (Pamela) and Tony Monroe, all of Winston-Salem, NC, J.t. Monroe (Ann) of Jersey City, NJ, David Monroe (Daisy) of Didley, NC, Robert Monroe of Murfreesboro, NC, Brady, Larry and Ronald Lotharp, all of Marshville, NC, Kevin Lotharp (Denise) of Edgewood, MD and  Donald Ronald (Vanessa) of Topeka, KS and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
