MR. EVERETTE OSCAR "Caddy" LILLY, 56, of Clayton, NC, formerly of Mt. Gilead, NC, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the home of his parents in Norwood, NC.
Funeral Services will be 12:00 pm Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the Leah Richter Levin Memorial Auditorium, 102 South School St., Mt. Gilead, NC. Vistation will be held 11:30 am to 12:00 pm in the Auditorium prior to the service.
Interment will follow in the McAuley Memorial Gardens, Mt. Gilead, NC.
A public viewing will be held 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Harris Funeral Home and Cremations of Mt. Gilead, NC whom is serving the Lilly, Medley, Richardson, and extended families.
Everette Oscar Lilly, was born on Saturday, March 31, 1962, in Montgomery County, North Caroliba, to Joe Ann Medley and James Arthur Medley, Sr.
Everette, aka "Caddy", attended the Montgomery County Public School System and was a 1980 graduate of West Montgomery High School. After graduating from West, he went on to serve his country in the United States Navy from 1980 to 1984.
Everette relocated to Raleigh, where he was employed as a Nurse at Dorethea Dix Hospital, where he worked at night and ran his own construction business during the day. Later, he began employment with Brandco installing fireplaces.
Everette loved to work and did not mind working from sun up to sun down. He loved his boys and would do anything for them. He had his entire family ar heart and rook great care of everyone.
Everette had a giving heart and would buy turkey's and give them out every thanksgiving in the Mt. Gilead community and he did it anonymously.
Everette departed this earthly life on Thursday, January 10, 2019, in is parents surrounded by his loving family.
He leaves to cherish and to honor his memories ro his beloved sons, Darius Alfred Lilly and Deverette Alan Lilly; his parents, Elder Joe Ann Lilly Medley and Elder James Arthur Medley, Sr., maternal grandmother, Betty V, Lilly; four sisters, Trilla Michelle (Gerard) Richardson, Carmelita "Nessie" (Ronnie) Eaton, Josephine (Luther) Cockrekk and Bettygenne Medley; three brothers, Anthony Lilly, Andre' McRae and James "Peter Rabbitt) Medley, Jr., 7 nieces, including special niece, Debreka Richardson; 12 nephews, 3 great-nieces, 2 great-nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins and a special cousin, Eleanor Cary (Dump).
Everette had numerous friends and acquaintances including Pat Williams, who assisted in his care and appointments; Mickey, Nate, Jake, Smoke and Alandra. Sleep on Caddy, take you rest. We loved you, but God loved you best.
