Rutha Mae (Russell) Parker

MRS, RUTHA MAE RUSSELL PARKER, 90 of MOUNT GILEAD, NC, (Parkertown Community), passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016,  at her home.

Funeral Services will be held 3:30 pm Friday, November 4, 2016,  at the Saint Luke Church of God, 542 Parkertown Rd., Mount Gilead, NC 27306. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.

A public viewing will be held 12:00pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Mount Gilead, NC.

Born Wednesday, March 31, 1926  in Scotland County, NC,  a daughter of the late Thomas Lomack Russell and Donetta Patterson Russell Young.  She was a homemaker and an active member of Saint Luke Church of God, where she was an Usher, Sunday School Secretary and a Choir member.

Mrs. Parker was united in holy matrimony to the late William Parker,  whom preceded her in death along with two sons; Robert Lee Parker, Ray Hue Parker and her parents.

Those left to cherish her  loving memories are her children; Hattie Mae Dumas, Janie McRae (Kelly), Ella Christian, Linda Parker, Melvin Parker and Thomas Parker all of Mount Gilead, NC, two sisters; Owdies Russell of Troy, NC and Mildred Hill of Mount Gilead, NC, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great- grandchildren, great- great-great- grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
