Loistine (Walls) Hood

MRS. LOISTINE WALLS HOOD, 72 of MONROE, NC passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Carolinas ContinueCare Hospital in Pineville, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Prosperous Revival Temple, 4711 Old Charlotte Hwy., Indian Trail, NC 28079.  Apostle Ozella Anderson, Pastor, Eulogist.

Interment will follow in the Suncrest Cemetery in Monroe, NC.

A public viewing will be held 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, August 3, 2018 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC whom is serving the Hood, Walls and extended family.

Born Monday, October 22, 1945 in Richmond County, NC a daughter of the late Ezell and Mozell Williams Walls.  Loistine attended Winchester High School in Monroe, NC and later resided in Brooklyn, NY for a number of years before relocating back to Monroe, NC.  She was loving, compassionate and generous with her love as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She loved god and her family, also cared for and loved many children for families and close friends.

Loistine joined First Baptist Church in Hamlet, NC at an early age.  She later became  a dedicated memnber of Prosperous Revival Temple in Indian Trail, NC  and attended faithfully until her illness.  She will be greatly missed by her family and many church members.  Preceding her in death were her Parents; three sisters; Mary McLaurin, Barbara Jean Sturdivant and Lula Easterling, five brothers; Henry Williams, Prentis Williams, James Martin, Robert L. Walls and Carl Walls.

Loistine leaves to cherish fond and precious memories to her devoted husband; Odell Hood, four sons; Lacy Hood (Erica), Quentin Hood (Adrian) and Steven Hood all of Monroe, NC and Chris Hood (Abigail) of Chicago, IL, three daughters; Lynn Hood , Yolanda Hood both of Monroe, NC and Pam Holmes (Avery) of Jacksonville, NC, one brother; Charles Walls of Monroe, NC, three sisters; Elmer Faulkner (Robert) , Fair Mae Walls and Berthina Barrett all of Monroe, NC, 14 grandchildren; Ebonie Allen, Cadeja Hood, Jamiya Hood, Essence McKinney, Christal Hood, Nina Hood, Sabrina Robinson, Jasmen Talley, Avery Holmes, Jr., Quenton Hood, Jr., Christopher Hood,Jr.. Stepheno Morrow, Ladale Talley and Kamanai Townsend, 3 great-grandchildren; Jaquez Elliott, Xander Higgs and Hayven Carol Marie Diaz and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
