John Robert Thomas, lovingly called 'Two Man", by everyone, was born on Sunday, Novembrt 6, 1949. to the late Mattie Louise Barrett and John Robert Robinson.  He entered into his etermal home on Sunday, March 1, 2020.  John is predeceased by a brother, Jimmy Lee Barrett and a sister, Jenny Ruth Barrett.

John had been a resident of Union County all of his life.  He worked hard to provide for his family and had the pleasure of retiring from Atrium Health-Union in December of 2011.

John was a die hard San Francisco 49ers fan and enjoyed watching his favorite college football team, Ohio State take the field when his 49ers wasn't playing.

In his past time, he loved to go fishing, hunt, travel and cook!  Although his all time favorite thing to do was spoiling his two youngest grandchildren.

John gave his life to Christ in 2011 at Christ Bible Discipleship Worship Center.  Shortly after completing the new members class, he joined the Usher Board, where he remained faithful throughout the extent of his life.  He also served as a member of the Hope Chest which would allow him to pick up food from various grocery stores that would later be given out to the people in the community.

John leaves to cherish his memory, his beautiful wife, Beatrice Thomas of the home.  John and Beatrice have been together 33 years and married for 25 years.  When asked how they stayed together for that long, John replied, "When we got mad, we'd just go to another room."  After two days, we'd make up and then there would be the peace and joy again.

John is also survived by his four daughters, Gwen and Gwendolyn Mungo, Laquanda (Emmanuel) Chambers, all of Union County and Chaquida "KiKi" Thomas (Robin) of Phoenix, AZ; six brothers, James Lewis Hamilton, James Earl Hamilton, James Barrett III, Derrick Williams of Ohio, Stephen Barrett and Purnell Barrett, Jr., all of Union County; three sisters, Betty Miller-Henderson of California, Tammy (Kenny) Vanpelt and Tina Barrett of Union County; father-in-law, Jim Mason of Phoenix, AZ; sister-in-law, Ava Thomas of Union County; 9 grandchildren; two favorite nieces, Tasha Bowman and Renee (Reggie) Bowman, both of Union County; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins and friends.
