Joel Reginald Dockery

MR. JOEL REGINALD DOCKERY, 63 of THOMASVILLE, NC, formerly of MOUNT GILEAD, NC, passed away Friday, October 14, 2016, at Novant Health / Thomasville Medical Center in Thomasville, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016, at the Oliver Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 232 Davis-Haywood Rd., Mount Gilead, NC 27306.  Visitation will be held 11:30am to 11:55am at the church prior to the service.  Military Honors and Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

A public viewing will be held 12:00pm to 7:00pm Friday, October 21, 2016, at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Mount Gilead, NC.

"Reggie", as he was known by his family and friends, was born on Sunday, March  29, 1953, in Montgomery County, NC.  He was a son of the late Joseph T. Dockery and Edith Ophelia Nicholson Dockery.  He was a member of the Oliver Grove Missionary Baptist Church, a 1972 graduate of West Montgomery High School, a United States Army Veteran and also a former employee of McRae Printing Co.

He is survived by one daughter; Niya Dockery of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Sharon D. Leake (Glenn) of Charlotte, NC and Lory D. Johnson (Lovell) of Milwaukee, WI;  one brother, Allison "Tony" Dockery of Lexington, NC;  and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
