MR. JAMES EDWARD WYNN, 72 of MONROE, NC passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center-Main in Charlotte, NC. Funeral Services will be held 2pm Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, 503 Maurice St., Monroe, NC 28112, Bishop Osco E. Gardin, Jr. Pastor, Eulogist. Entombment will follow in the Lakeland Memorial Park Mausoleum, 1901 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. A public viewing will be held 12 noon to 7pm Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.
Mr. Wynn was born in Union County, NC on Tuesday, August 18, 1942 to the late Henry Lee Wynn and Allene Owen Wynn. He joined Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 12 years old and was an active member until his health began to decline. Mr. Wynn also attended Winchester Avenue School where he was a High School graduate and he was employed by Belk Brothers of Monroe, NC and later worked for Oro Manufactoring Co. of Monroe, NC.
He leave to cherish fond and loving memories to his wife of 53 years Betty Francis Thompson Wynn of the home; one son; James Maurice "Reece" Wynn; three daughters; Yvette F. Simmons (John), Beverly A. Wynn and Celena Wynn-Eddy (Michael) all of Monroe, NC; two brothers; Henry Lee Wynn of Monroe, NC and David Lee Wynn of Richmond, VA; seven grandchildren; Crystal, Cierra, Latreese, Octavia, Erica, Shariff and Kendrick; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother in law; two sisters in law; a special friend Frontis Williams of Monroe, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
