Hattie Lee (Haywood) Miller

MRS. HATTIE LEE HAYWOOD MILLER, 89 of MOUNT GILEAD, NC, passed away Monday, November 2, 2015 at her home.  Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Thursday, November 5, 2015 at the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 4517 NC Hwy. 73 West, Mount Gilead, NC, with Visitation to be held 10:30am to 11:00am at the Church prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Thomasville Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Gilead, NC.  A public viewing will be held 12:00 noon to 7:00 pm Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Mount Gilead, NC.

Born  in Montgomery County, NC, Thursday, December 24, 1925, she was  a daughter of the late Walter and Lillie Tyson Haywood. She was a former employee and retiree of the Cafeteria Staff of Mount Gilead Elementary School and Russell-Harvell Hosiery and the widow of the late T.C. Miller. She was also  preceded her in death by  her son,  Walter "Bay Boy" Miller and his wife Mary Robinson Miller, brothers, R.B. Haywood and Lenzo Haywood, one sister, Annie Mae Thomas.

Survivors include one daughter, Nell Miller of Elkin Park, PA; two brothers, Lester Haywood (Myrtle) and Sylvester Haywood(Rachel) all of Mount Gilead, NC, one sister, Alice Pankey(Willie) of Troy, NC, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
