George Lee Miller

MR. GEORGE LEE MILLER, 77 of MONROE, NC passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Miller was a retired Educator and Principal in the Union County Public School System. He also served in many  Civic Organizations in the City of Monroe and throughout Union County.

Born Saturday, October 26, 1940 in Union County, NC, he was a son of the late Nathan Alfred and Theao Covington Miller. He was a member of Black's Memorial Presbyterian Church in Monroe, NC, and a graduate of Winchester High School in Monroe, NC and Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC, where was a Fraternity member of Alpha Phi Alpha.

He is survived by two daughters, Renee Nahgahgwon (Arnold) and Nikki Miller;  sister; Juanita Moore (Thaddeus); one niece, Natalie Moore; one nephew, Brian Moore and a special granddaughter; Rylee Nahgahgwon.

A Memorial Service in his honor will be held 12:00 pm  Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church, 302 East Windsor St., Monroe, NC 28112.

A Memorial Gathering of family and friends will be held 11:00 am to 12: 00 pm Saturday, October 13, 2018  at the Church prior to the service. Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC  is serving the Miller, Covington and extended families.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that Memorial contributions be made to; Hospice of Union County, The American Cancer Society or Relay for Life of Southern Montgomery County, MD.
