Alice Berthina (Williams) Thornton

MRS. ALICE  BERTHINA WILLIAMS THORNTON, 73 of MONROE, NC died Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center-Union in Monroe, NC.  A Memorial Service to Celebrate her Life will be held 12 noon Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Harris Funeral Home Memorial Chapel.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Friday, May 2, 1941 to the late Bee and Margaret Williams, she was reared and educated in Brooklyn, NY and later relocated to Monroe, NC where she was a homemaker and loved playing Bingo.  She was preceded in death by her Parents; husband; John Henry Thornton; her daughter; Marjorie Thornton-Alexander; grandson; Ryan Thornton and Six brothers.

She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to her grandchildren; Allona Frazier of Monroe, NC, Roger Thornton (Patrice) of Winston-Salem, NC and Jamaica Alexander of Greensboro, NC and Seven great-grandchildren; Mrs. Jackie Wallace (Ricky) of Monroe, NC as whom she raised as a daughter; two brothers; Reverend Eddie Williams (Vashasti) and Jay Will Bolder (Karen)  both of Monroe, NC and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.  Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC is in charge.
