R.I.P. Sam. He was like a second father to me as I grew up as a part of this family growing up in the Stewart Park/Quality Hill neighborhoods. True hard working man of God. I am the man I am today because of men like Sam and my Dad(Ducky). Go rest high on that mountain Sam as your work is done here on earth. God Bless this family.

What a great man Sam was.  He always had something positive and funny to say to people he worked with at United Carolina Bank and BB&T.  He was so helpful and just a joy to know.  Prayers and thoughts are with his family during this time.

We are so saddened to learn of Sam's passing.  He was one of the kindest, decent human beings we had the honor of knowing.  He always had a kind word for everyone and a happy-go-lucky personality.  Sam will be sorely missed.

Sam was a special man! Never saw him without a smile or kind word. We worked together many years ago at UCB Operations. He will missed by many.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Sam's passing.  I only knew him a short while, before he retired from BB&T, but have thought of him often over the years.  His kindness and warmth made him unforgettable.
He will be truly missed.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of such a great man.  Mr. Ivey was a good, honest, hard-working man that was respected in Monroe by all that  met or worked with him.  I have been fortunate enough to have been friends with some of Mr. Ivey's' son's and I know personally, that some of his great qualities have been passed on to them.   I pray that the family know that Mr. Sam Ivey is in heaven looking down on us with that big grin.
