Hattie Ester Morrison McDow was born in Union County, NC, on Wednesday, August 25, 1926.

Hattie was the oldest daughter of Sanford Morrison and Anna Robnson Morrison.  She was married to Wlliw P. McDow, who preceded her in death. To their union, they were blessed with six children; Kenneth McDow of Monroe, NC, Willie Dean Martin (Cliff0 of Jefferson, SC, Revonda McDow of Jefferson, SC, Timothy McDow (Brenda) of Monroe, NC, Roger N. McDow (Carla) of Weddington and Joann Honeycutt (Bennie) of Jefferson, SC; one sister, Ms, Dinah Hood of Waxhaw, NC; one sister-in-law, Ms. Mary Frances Morrison of Waxhaw, NC; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.  Four brothers preceded her in death.

Hattie was a caring homemaker for her family.  She graduated from Western Union School.  She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Watts Grove Baptist Church.  She loved the Lord.  You would find her sitting on the side of ther bed or sitting in her chair praying ad singing daily.

She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and served as a Missionary, on the Trustee Board and actively participated in the Sunday School Classes.

She was affectionately known as "Aunt Sis", Sister to some, Granny, Grandma, Maw-Maw and Queen to others.

One of her favorite scriptures that she loved to quote was Psalm 16:1, Preserve me, O God, for in thee do I put my trust.

Although Hattie lived a long life, it can  be summed up in just a few words; She lived a simple life, loved her church, especially Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, she loved her family, especially her children and grands and finally and most importantly, she loved the Lord.
