Bill Martin attended grade school bur never  completed the 3rd grade due to dropping out of school to help withe the finances and to help take care of his mother at home.  He didn't have a lot of education and he couldn't read and write, but he could count money and lots of money.  Despite thar Bill wasn't an educated man, he was very successful, self employed business man who believed in taking care of his family and being a great provider for his wife and children.

He was a people person.  He could walk up to anybody and start a conversatiom.  He never met a stranger.  He just had a gift of gab and gave everyone a nickname.  He was known by a lot of people in Troy and surrounding counties.  He traveled selling his meat on his truck to many cities and towns throughout the state of North Carolina, parts of South Carolina and Virginia.  Bill didn't mind helping people in need.  He loved his family and in his later years of life, he accepted Jesus Christ at Autumn Care Nursing facility in Biscoe, NC.

Bill leaves to forever cherish his memoried to his loving wife of 50 years, Doris Martin of the home; two children, Willia Martin of the home and Anthony Martin of Raleigh, NC; five  grandchildren, Apiphanie Cole of Columbia, SC, Deltonie Martin of Cary, NC, Brittany Martin of Pembroke, NC, Courtney Martin of Raleigh, NC and Abigail Martin of Raleigh, NC; one great-grandchild, Layla Sewell of Columbia, SC; sister, Clara Ruth Bryant of New York and one adoptive brother, Dave Martin of New York.  He also leaves one daughter-in-law, Kimberly Martin of Raleigh, NC;  five sisters-in-law, Katie Little of New Castle, DE, Appledella McPhatter,, Annie Ingram , Angelous Ingram and Francis Ingram, all of Ansonville, NC; four brothers-in-law,  Delman Ingram, Perry Ingram, Charles McPhatter, all of Ansonville, NC and Larry Watrins of Albemarle NC; two God sons,  Xavier and Neil Porter, both of Troy, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  A special thank you and appreciation from the family to Keith and Nicole Watkins, Whitney McAuley, Melissa Smith and Donald Barringer for their tireless help  and patience for Daddy in his time of need.
