MRS. EARLIE YVONNE McCLENDON WATERS, 66 of MONROE, NC passed away Monday, August 31, 2020 at Monroe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Monroe, NC.

Graveside Services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, September 6, 2020 at the Hillcrest Cemetery, 500 Adams St., Monroe, NC.  (Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic everyone attending the service are required to wear a mask or facial covering).

A public viewing will be held 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Saturday, September  5, 2020 at Harris Funeral Home Cremations of Monroe, NC.

Mrs. Earlie Yvonne McClendon Waters, daughter of the late Alforene McClendon and Willie Marshall McClendon, was born on Friday, April 9, 1954, in Union County, Monroe, North Carolina. 

Von, as she was fondly called, worked at Jud's Restaurant in Monroe for many years.

She was a member of Mt. Calvary A.M.E. Zion Church, Monroe, until her health began to decline.

Those preceding her in death were her mother; Rene and her father Willie; her husband Rueben Waters; brother; Arthur McClendon and an aunt, Earlie Mae Massey.

Von leaves to cherish loving and fond memories to her children; one son, Rufus McClendon (Erica); two daughters; Tynika McClendon (Billy) and Laurabelle Blount (husband Michael), all of Monroe, NC; two sisters, Addie Rorie and Patricia Huntley (Booker T); two brothers, Willie Ray McClendon and Victor McClendon, both of Monroe, NC; step-sons, DeAngelo Stewart (Lisa) of Wadesboro, NC and Donald Clyburn and Jawand Clyburn, both of Charlotte, NC; 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grands.  She loved all her grands dearly but she has one special granddaughter, Ashley McClendon, who was by her side and battling the same disease for 5 years; very special friend, Norman Crosby, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
