George was one of the finest men I have known. He set a standard as a teacher, a principal and a friend. Both my daughters were at Indian Trail during his time there. I had the opportunity to have numerous conversations with him about the school and the area. I also had the privilege to be a member of the Indian Trail Town council when we honored his years of service with a George Miller Day and surprised him at the town meeting with lots of friends and food and was presented with his plaque. God bless you Miller family as you celebrate this awesome servant of God.

I am so sorry for your loss. He is a strong noble man that any child looked up to. He treated everyone the same and didn’t hesitate to let you know that you could and would be corrected. He treated my mother and father, Gene and Lelia Hancock, with respect and honesty. We will see him again I know it in my heart. God bless the entire family and thank you for sharing this remarkable man with us all. God will keep you and will be with you always.

Mr. Miller impacted my life more than any other teacher I ever had. I was in 7th grade the year he started at Indian Trail, and I'll never forget that first day he was there. In college, I had to do my student teaching bit under him, so again, he was a great influence. He was both directly and indirectly responsible for much of what I do today - with music, writing and in life, in general. He was the most admirable role model I had in my school career. An amazing individual whom I shall never forget. Blessings of peace and comfort to his family!

George Miller will be greatly missed by his students, his teachers and staff! He was respected by all that knew him. Personally he taught me a lot when I first started teaching and as years went by we stayed in touch. We hope that God will comfort the family at this time and bring peace with memories that they share.

This Man was The Principal at Indian Trail Elementary but he was my Friend. Every morning when I got off the school bus he was out in front saying good morning, be kind, be good and do your best. I also went to his office in 5th grade because of arguing with a girl in class “who was a friend” and I was upset and he told me something I’ve never forgotten; he said Always remember this the people you meet in Elementary School and Middle School are like visitors they come and go through your life now as you get older and get in High School if they have never left you, stood beside you through good & bad then they are your Friends. Don’t you ever forget that because you are a good girl and God & I Love You. So you go on back to Class. R.I.P. Mr. Miller💙

To the Miller family. I would just like to offer my heartfelt condolences on the passing of
Mr Miller. He was my principal at Indian Trail elem in the mid 70's. He was strict but fair, and we all respected him for that. It was a privilege to have known him. An administrator like him is badly needed in this day and age. He was a fine gentleman.

Mr Miller was a great man. I got in more trouble on the bus in elementary school more times than I care to remember and spent many a morning in his office. I never forgot him as he made an impression on me that I have carried throughout my life. After getting married, my wife and I moved to just down the road from him and I always would see him working in his yard. I always wanted to pull in and introduce him to my children and tell him he truly made an impression on me, that I straightened myself out and now I am in education. I never did - always thinking I'd do it the next time I saw him out in the yard. I really regret not stopping by and speaking with him. He definitely cast a large shadow and the perfect example to follow. Praying for God's peace and strength for his family through this time.

To the Miller family,

I have known Mr. Lee for as long as I can remember. He was an amazing friend to my mother(Marie Ingram Smith), my aunt(Amy Ingram Mungo) and my uncle(T.C. Mungo). I will always remember his warm spirit, words of wisdom and all he has done for my family. He attended my wedding, most family gatherings, spoke at my mother's funeral, served as a Pall Bearer at my mother's funeral as well as my father's funeral. Every time I would see him, he would always ask how my sister and I were doing after the loss of our parents. He was just an incredible man with a humble spirit.

Wishing the family peace to bring you comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your heart.

to the Miller family....
My mom, Wilba Helms worked for and with your beloved father for years at Indian Trail Elementary School. My sister and I both attended there and your dad was my favorite principal ever! He was fair, was loving and when needed, was strong and dealt with whatever needed to be dealt with. He was an amazing man and will be missed greatly! All the memories he made with all the kids he worked with over the years will never be forgotten. May the God of the universe comfort you as you mourn the passing of your beloved father.

I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Miller. Such a good man. He made a profound difference in the lives of two of my kids when he was principal at Indian Trail Elementary. My daughter who is now a principal has used him as an example of the kind of principal she hopes to be. My son struggled in school and Mr. Miller treated him with respect, fiirmness and gentleness at the same time. I passed his home many tines and regret now I never stopped to tell him just how far my son came and what a wonderful man he has become and that he is a productive and good member of society. Mr.Miller made a difference in his life! I am forever grateful for the example he was to two of my kids who were blessed to know him. May he Rest In Peace and in the joy of the Lotd and with his family before him. Thank you Mr. Miller!

Mr. Miller was my principal at Indian Trail Elementary after being transferred from Hemby Bridge , not only as an administrator this man I could actually say I also considered him a role model. His outlook was every child mattered and he would actually take the time to talk not only to the staff, but also the children and their parents as well..
