Tony A. Miller, a son of the late R.J. and Elsie Miller, was born on December 22, 1947 in Chesterfield County, Pageland, SC.

He was a graduate of Petersburg School in Pageland, SC in 1965 and thereafter, serving a two year period in the US Army.  Tony was a member of Salem United Methodist Church for many years.

As a young man,  Tony relocated to Monroe, NC.  It was there that he met the love of his life, Mary Alice " Boat" Faulkner.  They were joined in marriage on June 1, 1974., and soon after making their home in Indian Trail, NC, to this union, three sons were born, Bradley, Ryan and Eric.

Tony was employed as supervisor with Schrader Automotive in Monroe, NC, for twenty years prior his retirement.  He was later employed by the Union County Sheriff's Department, retiring in his early years.

After moving to Monroe, he became a long-standing member of Langford Chapel CME Church, serving faithfully in the Men's and Gospel Choirs, Langford Chapel Food Ministry, and President of the Steward board.  He was also a member of A Few Good Men.

Tony would always embrace you with a smile.  He was easy going, mild mannered and a man of integrity who possesses a quiet strength that was remarkable to all.  He enjoyed life, traveling, gardening, and fellowshipping with family and friends.

With the assistance of  his wife, "Boat", Tony was  devoted to caring for his mother Elsie for several years.  With their tender love, watchful eyes and direction of the holy spirit, they cared for Ms. Elsie until she passed away at the age of 101.

Tony was predeceased by his parents, sister, Eva Mae Lowrey and 3 brothers Carewell, Henry Lewis, and Jackie Miller.

Tony leaves cherished memories to his bride, Mary Alice Miller of 43 years.  Three sons, Bradley, Ryan and Eric, all of Indian Trail, NC; one daughter, Andrea D. I'm so sorry to hear that Tony has passed. I worked with Tony from 1982-1992 at Schrader Automotive where I came to like and respect him very much over the years. I regret not keeping track of him since then. Tony was a fine man to me.
My condolences to his family and friends.
