MRS. ELAINE JUNE JONES BELK, 78 of MARSHVILLE, NC passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at CHS Hospice of Union County in Monroe, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at the Flint Ridge Baptist Church, 5720 Flint Ridge Church Road, Marshville, NC 28103.  Reverend Richard Graham, Pastor, Eulogist. Mrs. Belk remains will lie in repose one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary.  Interment will follow after the service in the church cemetery.

A public viewing will be held 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday, July 10, 2017 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.

Elaine was born Thursday, June 8, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY a daughter of the late Charles, Sr. and Margaret Ferguson Jones. She worked for Early Childhood Education Center, Inc., Jamaica, NY and Union County Public School System, Monroe, NC.

Elaine was a faithful member of Flint Ridge Baptist Church, Marshville, NC where she was a member of the Combined Choir and she also worked with the children.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; Charles, Sr. and Margaret Ferguson Jones, husband; John R. Belk, one brother; Bruce Jones, three sisters; Muriel Gaines, Pearl Jones Berry and Mildred Ferguson Allen.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters; Michelle Chapman of Bronx, NY and Annette Tomlin, of Brooklyn, NY, one sister; Veronica Jones Baston of Long Island City, NY, one brother; Charles "Buddy" Jones, Jr. (Peggy)  of Queens Village, NY.   Six grandchildren, Four great-grandchildren, Three Sister-in-Laws, Four Brother-in-Laws;  a host of nieces, nephews and friends. 

Special friends; Mrs. Stella Baucom, Ernest and Lillian Collins and the Staff of the McWorther House of Carolinas Healthcare System Hospice of Union County, Monroe, NC.
