SOL MARIA MATIAS, 41 of WINGATE, NC died Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center-Union, Monroe, NC. Private Services will be held at a later date.
Maria was born Sunday, August 27, 1972 in Bronx, NY a daughter of the late August Matias and Elba Rodriguez. She was employed as a Social Worker.
She leaves to cherish fond memories to; two daughters; Ashley Hamilton and Christine Hamilton one son; Michael Hamilton all of the home; one sister; Michelle Matias of Wingate, NC and one grandchild. Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe is in charge.

To The Family of Maria Matias, My Name is Renee Wilson and I was your mother's supervisor at Children's Home Society of N.C., Your mother was a wonderful person and will definitely be missed by the families and staff of CHS. She was the kind of person who always made us laugh and had a genuine care for other people. She and her memory will live on in the people and families she touched. To her children please know that your mother is very proud of you and she will continue to smile down upon you as only she can. You are loved by her. Hey mom. I miss you and love you alot. She was the best mother ever. She helped me and always listen to me. She was a sweet and beautiful person. She love to help everyone as best as she can. I think about her everyday and i wish i can see herbut i know she is looking down at us. I love my mom and miss her. Rest in peace mom.

My deepest condolences to Ashley, Michael, Kristina, little Wilson, her sister Michelle as well as all of her family. Although, I only knew Maria for a short time, I am very blessed to have met her through the hearts of our children, which connected us as mothers, sharing a common goal, that we wanted no less than the best for our babies. Just recently, Maria and I had a very intimate conversation, which I will carry with me forever. May you rest in peace my friend, and know that your babies are in the comfort of God's arms and that your smile, spirit and memory will live forever. In closing, thanks Maria for loving my daughter unconditionally. ♥

My condolences go out to all the family of Maria. She was a great spirited person with a beautiful heart. I am so saddened by this news and my heart goes out to her children. To the Family of Maria Matias I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your dear mother. I never met her but I know her children because of my cousin Kelvin.
